SubDoctor privacy details

Version 0.8.6 · last updated 13 October 2026

This policy describes the SubDoctor Chrome extension, published under the display name Adria. Contact subdoctor.support@gmail.com for support or privacy questions.

Your tracker stays on this device

SubDoctor requires no email, account, bank connection or payment. It has no analytics, advertising or subscription-count limit. Chrome's storage capacity still applies.

Subscription names, dates, prices, currencies, billing intervals, management URLs, notes, categories, active/paused/archived status, recurrence choices and reminder preferences are stored in chrome.storage.local in your Chrome profile. The popup and full-page extension dashboard share these saved records. Local reminder delivery history helps prevent duplicate alerts. A reminder-resumption timestamp prevents delivery from a paused/archived period after reactivation. Each view keeps its own unfinished add/edit form locally so it can be resumed without replacing a form in the other view. Cancel or successful Save removes that view's draft; starting a different form in that view replaces it. Chrome Sync is not used. Local storage is not an encrypted vault; avoid passwords and payment details in notes.

Pages and network access

This version does not capture or read web pages, PDFs or screenshots and does not send subscription details to a backend or AI provider. It has no host, activeTab or scripting permissions, no content scripts, and no access to cookies or browsing history. Its extension connection policy blocks server requests. Saved records from previous capture builds remain ordinary local records. On upgrade, obsolete backend settings, installation tokens and cloud consent are removed from Chrome. Historical metadata from earlier cloud requests is not erased from the former backend or provider by this update.

Chrome reminders

Chrome notifications can display subscription names and important dates on your device, including in your operating system's notification center. System settings control their visibility. Chrome must be running. SubDoctor checks up to seven days of missed reminders when it runs again. Reminder timing and lead days are configurable. Paused and archived subscriptions do not receive reminders. Email reminders are not included, and the extension does not collect an email address.

Your choices and deletion

Delete a subscription to remove its record from this Chrome profile. Discard removes the unfinished form. Removing the extension removes its Chrome-local data; export a backup first if you want to retain your subscriptions.

Export creates a plain JSON file containing subscriptions, notes, management URLs, recurrence choices and reminder preferences. It excludes unfinished forms and delivery history. Keep backups private. Import validates the file and requires your explicit confirmation. Backup files remain wherever you save them, including after removing SubDoctor.

Calendar export creates a plain .ics file with active subscription names and important dates. It excludes notes, management URLs and prices. SubDoctor does not access or upload to a calendar account. Choosing to import the file may upload those names and dates to your calendar provider, subject to its policies. The file is a snapshot: later changes or deletions in SubDoctor do not change imported calendar events. Exported files and imported calendar events remain until you remove them yourself.

CSV export creates a plain spreadsheet report of your saved subscriptions (names, categories, status, prices, intervals, dates and spending estimates) or active category totals. It excludes notes, management URLs and unfinished forms. Reports are downloaded locally; SubDoctor does not upload them. If you import a report into an online spreadsheet service, that service receives its contents under its own policies. Keep these files private and delete them yourself when no longer needed. CSV is a report, not a restorable backup.

Opening a management link takes you to that provider's website, subject to its policies. This release has no support-payment link.

Use and transfer

SubDoctor uses local data to provide subscription tracking, local spending estimates, organization, reminders and user-requested exports. It does not sell data, use it for advertising, or transmit it to an operator's service. Future features that send data off-device will require updated disclosures and an explicit choice before use.
